What We've Found on the Job Site

See what we've been doing, and how we do it better.

You might think: "what's wrong with it?"
We were called because one apartment had no power. We traced the problem to faulty wiring behind the sheet metal, but the previous installer had left it completely unserviceable. Every service had to be disconnected before the repair, meaning the whole building, eight families, had no power.

We rebuilt the whole thing.
We custom built the service box for this apartment building and made sure that every apartment was back online as soon as possible. We left the wiring organized and serviceable for future upgrades or repair.

We left it better than we found it.
We're proud of this one. But this is the way it should have been done. We  are firm believers in doing it right the first time.

It sure can be spooky in the attic.
Blackened and corroded wire? Melted wire nuts? This was so close to being an electrical fire. The damage was hidden inside the junction box, with the homeowner aware only of some "fluctuations in power." The previous installer made an improper junction between aluminum and copper wiring. Good thing the homeowner called us in time.

Please...don't let your plumber do your electrical.
The previous installer took some shortcuts with the connections, mixing plumbing and electrical materials. They really should have used liquid-tight flexible conduit, not cobbled together whatever they could find. We fixed it, of course.

This belongs in an electrical "what not to do" hall of fame.
We could barely believe our eyes when we opened the panel in this commercial property. What was the previous installer thinking?! They chained the breaker to the cover instead of installating it properly! We fixed the installation, and it's now safe.

Zinsco panels are known hazards.
They work...until they don't, and are known in the industry for shock and fire hazards. Much like other old but unsafe electrical wiring, like knob-and-tube or cloth wiring, we always recommend replacement on these panels.

Goodbye, Zinsco! Hello, Square D!
The homeowner with the Zinsco panel weighed their risk, and then took the advice for a replacement to heart. We installed a new Square D electrical panel. Now they have a brand new up to date panel and peace of mind!

Believe it or not, this was a different installer's brand new construction.
It hadn't rained more than our usual afternoon thunderstorms, but the ground near this athletic field had large puddles near this junction box and receptacle, with water inside the box, too! This was a major shock hazard to anyone who came by.

This is safer.
Exterior wiring has some different rules, but electrical boxes are made to hold wires, not water! We raised the box off the ground, the way it should have been to begin with. Then, we corrected the  receptacle, moving it to the pole with a weatherproof cover over the GFCI receptacle.

Always quality work

A driver hit this transformer box with their car, causing an electrical fire. This was going to be a long day.

The fire department put out the fire, but the insulation, wires, and connections were all burned. You can't  turn the power back on like that!

In coordination with the utility company, a new transformer was installed, but new wiring had to be run to each meter bank. We got everyone's lights back on as quickly as possible.

We're aiming high on our  hydraulic lift to meet our customer's expectations on pole light installations. This one was just a little residential streetlight. We can reach even higher!

We're digging deep in the trenches to give our best work to our customers. Every time we work for you, we're working hard. We take so much pride in getting it right.

And we're staying late to get the jobs done. When others have gone home, we're out here working to get our customers back to safe, working electrical power.
